About The Band

Picture
The Reid Family has been playing in Southern Utah for over 17 years. We play a lot of Old Time Rock and Roll and Classic Country songs, intermingled with lots of very familiar cover songs that everyone recognizes and enjoys. We have a lot of upbeat rock songs, as well as many mellow country and love songs. This allows us to play many different venues, from festivals to weddings. We can tailor our sound to fit your needs (tone it down for a wedding, or turn it up for a party or dance.) We focus a lot of attention on our harmonies and vocals and back it up with entertaining instrumental solos, driving rhythms, and a beat that makes for great dancing!

The Reid Band played their first "official" gig when Logan was just 13 (Sasha was 16). They have been playing together ever since. If you wonder what Sunday evenings were like at the Reid house, these pictures should tell it all. Sasha summed up our thoughts and feelings about music in the poem to the right. We love music, we love each other, and we love making music together. As the kids grew up and married, we simply adopted their spouses into the band. Now with kids of their own, we hope to simply continue building the band!

“While Most Kids...” - By Sasha (written when she was 17)

“While most kids were raised with Tonka toys and Mickey mouse, we were raised with a fiddle and Merle Haggard.
Most kids watched Mr. Rogers and Bugs Bunny, we watched Hee-Haw and the Grand ‘Ole Opry.
While most little kids were falling asleep to a story about the three little pigs or Hansel and Gretle, we were put to sleep by the mellow sound of my dads voice, keeping in tune with his rhythm guitar.
While most kids were sound asleep in their beds, we were dancing to the music of Easy Country, or laying in the back of a pick-up truck, listening to mom and dad play a ‘gig’.
Music is always playing in our home.  Whether it’s the sounds of the local radio station or one of us practicing our instrument.
Music is a big part of our lives.  We have been raised with traditional music and musical instruments.  Our best companion is music and our instruments and our best friends are our family.  The opportunity that we have to make music together is a great blessing.
The harmony that we create on stage as a family is a reflection of the harmony in our home!”
